🎉 CELEBRATING 10 YEARS IN BUSINESS 🎉
We opened our doors in February 2014 and we’ve been settled on Birstall Road within the Sports and Social grounds ever since. We are a term time only setting for children aged between 2 and 5 years. Open from 8am up to 5pm we have the pleasure of helping children between 2 and 5 years old to grow, learn and play. We offer daytime care for children aged 2 and 5 years. We even have access to the training fields so the children can enjoy nature on their doorstep. There’s also free parking at the front of the preschool. We are close to local amenities and the city centre is only a 12 minute drive away. There’s also a local shop within the village which is only a 2 minute drive or a 13 minute walk away. An ideal location for our local community.Â
Q -What inspired you to open the preschool?
A- “I’ve always believed children should have the best possible start in life. Every family has different needs and are in different circumstances, so I was determined to help by offering a home from home setting, small, friendly and a fun place to be” – Angela Wetton (Owner)
They can learn to be themselves, try new activities, learn to communicate their needs, and improve their social skills with adults and other children, all with a smile. Our preschool aims to give children the confidence to grow from strength to strength, feel happy and safe, gain their independence and individuality in a stable, natural and stimulating environment using child centred activities. Here at Co-operative Play and Learn the children always come first, and we have a dedicated and qualified team to ensure this is always the case. We are a smaller preschool setting, so we offer a more personal approach, and we have an open-door policy so the children can choose if they want to play inside or outside. We follow the child’s lead to encourage their independence, social skills and imagination. This policy follows through to you, our parents, we’d love for you to take part in activities and events such as, coming in to read a story to the children on world book day and attending some of our sports activities.Â
We are part of the Healthy Teeth Happy Smiles campaign and we actively encourage the children here at preschool to think actively about their health and wellbeing. You can find more information about the campaign over at: https://www.leicester.gov.uk/health-and-social-care/public-health/get-oral-health-advice/healthy-teeth-happy-smiles/.
You can also email the team over at ‘HealthyTeethHappySmiles@leicester.gov.uk’ for information on how you can access these services.
No matter the weather we have lots of activities to keep us busy, from playdough and books to having fun on our balancing beams and enjoying some calming yoga in the sunshine. Our children will always have a good range of things to do during their day and we commit to ensuring they are happy and enjoying whatever they are doing. The activities help to keep little minds active as well as offering time to help them feel grounded during quieter times.Â
